Birth Parents, Expecting Parents Considering Adoption

I’m pregnant and don’t know what to do. What are my options?

You may be feeling a range of emotions right now, and it’s important to know that it is normal and that whatever you may be feeling is completely valid. Remember that you have options. These options are not one size fits all, so what may work for someone else may not work for you. Let’s take a look at some.

What are my options?

Adoptions From The Heart is here to help you figure out what options work best for you, even if your choice is not adoption. One option you have is parenting. It is important to remember that you are not alone in this journey, and there are many resources to help you feel ready if parenting is what you choose. The agency and AFTH counselors are fantastic resources for information, assistance, and support from beginning to end.

If parenting is something that does not seem viable, another option is abortion. AFTH supports a woman’s right to choose the best choice for her and her body. With the recent Supreme Court ruling, this right is being infringed upon in some states. While AFTH will continue to support pregnant women in their journeys, it is essential to research the laws of your state to avoid legalities.

The third option available to you is adoption. Adoptions From The Heart understands that adoption is not always the easier option, which is why our counselors and social workers work diligently to ensure our clients are supported through and through. Expecting parents may choose how open or closed they’d like to be or determine how involved they would like to be in their child’s life. As an open adoption agency, we facilitate open adoptions in which there is some relationship between birth parents and adoptees.

Okay, I know my options, but I’m still unsure. What now?

This can be a scary and confusing time, especially for pregnant women, and we understand entirely. If you have any questions about what option is best for you, you can contact our offices and speak with counselors who can help you determine what choice you would be most comfortable deciding. We are an adoption agency, but more importantly, AFTH is a family service organization that stands by women’s health, choices, and education!
